Bangkirai (Shorea Laevis) is one of the deciduous trees found in the southern, south-eastern and eastern Asia (the area of Indonesia and Malaysia).
It is characterized by the 2nd class of durability and color passing from light to dark brown. Sometimes it also takes on a brown-yellow shade. Its advantage is high resistance to aging and atmospheric conditions, as well as the rotting and attacks of parasites.
A feature that distinguishes this species is the occurrence of small holes after insects (1-1.5 mm), which, however, does not affect the quality of wood. Insects live only in a growing tree.
Dimensions of boards:
- Terrace board - 25 × 145 mm
- Construction patch (joist) - 45 × 70 mm

The processing of this wood is relatively simple. Due to the fact that Bangkirai reacts with steel, it is recommended to use stainless steel screws. Thus, discoloration will be avoided on its surface.
The advantages of this species include high mechanical parameters, abrasion resistance and mechanical impacts.
Changing the color of wood to silver -gray occurs under the influence of weather conditions, including sunlight and pollution. Oiling terrace wood will prevent the loss of natural color.
