Oil's terrace coverage has been used for a long time using the wood protection method. It provides it with protection by deeply penetrating wood fibers, and a big advantage is to make the appearance of boards more attractive. The color of the wood becomes more intense and more vivid thanks to oil. Terrace oiling treatment can be used as an alternative to pressure impregnation. However, performing these two treatments will further extend the durability of wood.
How to get a wooden terrace?
In the past, linseed oil was very often used, but problems with drying meant that it is rarely used to care for terraces. Currently on the market there are agents based on linseed oil, but an important downside of their use is the need to remove excess oil with rags. When using this oil, remember about safety and because of the flammability of the oil -soaked cloth, throw it into the garbage. Drying this type of agent can be accelerated with a cobalt sycathetic.
water on the terrace
for our procedures, most often diluted in water coral oil. It has delicate waxes that penetrate wood by saturated wood fibers, thanks to which the boards become more resistant to water. On a sunny, summer day, boards that have been covered with this type of oil twice can dry even after a few hours. However, it is safer to start using the terrace at least a day later. The boards then get a beautiful, matte color, and the jars are still visible. However, the total oil covering effect is achieved after about 2 weeks, then the board completely ceases to absorb water. After rainfall, water on the oiled terrace of pearls.
We use Holzöl corals (not containing biodides, most often used for exotic wood) and Holzöl Spezial Corals (containing biocides and protecting wood against fungi and bias, depending on the species of wood.

Before you start the oiling, the wood should be cleaned, sweeping along the roars of the board and nourished. You should also wait until the end of the terrace assembly, because when the oil is drying on the boards, dust or sawdust are very easily deposited. We do not recommend applying wood oil with the help of painting rollers. The first contraindication is too high oil consumption, the second uneven application, which leads to the variety of color. In addition, oil is best results. This is done with a brush with a wide hair, which also makes it easier for us to protect the sides of the boards.

Depending on the wood species, the oiling treatment is performed once or twice a year. Siberian larch and other species with a density below 700 kg/m3 requires this procedure once a year. Exotic species, due to the higher density and the natural content of oily compounds - twice a year. It should be borne in mind that more in this case does not mean better and the wood should be covered with oil only when the previous layer has already been rinsed.
