The backyard terrace is the dream of many people - its construction often begins quickly, but it stands at the time of making the decision about the material to be used to make it. Many people decide on terrace boards, but the choice is not as obvious as it might seem.
Various options are available on the modern market, but the most frequently chosen include:
Due to their low price and easy access, the composites are very popular. Importantly, they are not only cheap, but also eye -catching, thanks to their heterogeneous structure. They also guarantee a smooth surface, which we will certainly not get in the case of more expensive wooden boards. However, these are distinguished by the naturalness and durability and visual aesthetics.
Terrace boards - what are they?
Composite terrace boards consist of two main parts:
- Coatings with unique properties - built of polymers, guarantees an appropriate outer layer of the terrace,
- The core with unique properties for the internal part of the composite board and guaranteeing the appropriate structure made of many ingredients.
Wooden boards, unlike composite, are fully natural, and thus do not have layers resulting from the combination of artificial ingredients - their strength and resistance depends on the specific species of the tree and the location in which it increases.
How to make the best decision?
Certainly at the very beginning, it is worth asking yourself: where we want the terrace to be created and what we want to spend on it funds. If the area is simple, then creating both composite and wooden terrace will not be a problem. In the case of all unevenness, the possibility of leveling pads must be taken into account.
If we want to build a terrace using the least financial outflow, then WPC composite boards will definitely work, which guarantee high strength and last years. They are visually attractive, but they differ significantly from the appearance of wood, and even from its imitation. The impregnation and maintenance of composites will not be a problem, and its smooth surface will not cause us problems or inconvenience.
In the event that we allocate more money to the terrace, it may be tempted to have natural terrace boards - e.g. boards from Siberian larch or exotic wood available in our offer - thus putting on wood, which visually meets our expectations and, like composites, will last years. However, it is worth reckoning with the fact that wood has an uneven structure and can during renovation - more precisely oiling, to occur with a bristles that will get rid of grinding.
Choosing the right terrace board is not easy. There are many types of terraces on the market, and thus the list of all and against any and against. Importantly, today's choice in terms of color is not a problem - if the color of the board does not suit us, we can use the right impregnants and oils with color pigments. The main role when choosing terrace boards is, however, financial output and what visual aspects will satisfy us with each possible options.
